No School – Jan. 15 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Dear wonderful families,
Next week is International Week (16-18). We will celebrate the diversity in our school. If you or your child has something to share about another country we would like to have them share it in our class. On Tuesday morning the elementary classes will be singing a song for chapel (8:15) as part of the Multicultural celebration. On Wednesday your child may dress up with the costume depicting your family heritage or another nation. On Thursday afternoon (after lunch) we are asking parents to bring an authentic dish from another country – it will just be a sampling so still send in lunch with your child.
Here is what we are doing this week:
Phonics:
• Level 3: VCV (vowel, consonant, vowel) syllable division pattern
Math:
• Unit 11 Comparing Numbers – Less and more
• Subtraction sentences when comparing numbers
• How many more – subtraction sentences
