GOAL

Every class we will exercise! We will be learning new rules to sports as well as exploring games and activities that you may or may not know. These activities are meant to be fun as well aschallenging. We will learn to listen and do!!!

EXPECTATIONS

Every day you are expected to dress out for P.E. class ready and willing to participate. Full participation is required! I do not expect everyone to be the best athlete, but I do ask for everyone to give THEIR BEST! Positive attitudes are necessary to enjoying this class.

GRADING

You are required to dress everyday for class in appropriate attire. Appropriate attire is as follows:

  • Our Gym uniform must be worn at all times.
  • Until gym uniforms are ordered, attire is basketball shorts and T-Shirt (different than what you wore to school that day) NO SHORT SHORTS!
  • Cold weather gear will be adjusted- sweats, leggings, long sleeve shirt, sweater, etc.
  • No hats of any kind, EXCEPT beanies will be permitted when we run our winter mile.
  • No sandals or boots; Sneakers or tied shoes only.
  • Jewelry must be removed before participating (necklaces, rings, bracelets, ear rings, etc.) Studded earings will be permitted.

Each time a student is not “dressed out”, he/she will lose 3 points from their starting grade of 100.

If a student is absent 3 times in the same marking period, their grade will automatically drop a letter. A family trip, such as missions, will be handled differently. A signed Dr. Note can excuse a student from participation in class . A signed note from Mom/Dad may excuse your full participation depending on the severity of the situation, you may still however, be asked to go light. If you come in with no note, you will be expected to play or be counted as absent.

STUDENT LEADER

A student leader will be assigned by the teacher. This student is responsible for keeping attendance for his or her grade, marking students tardy, and holding students to dress code requirements. This student is an extension of the teacher and will be give the same respect.

While serving as student leader you are required to be on time and dress out.

LATE POLLICY

Students will be given 5 minutes from the start of class to be dressed and ready. If you are not dressed and ready to go by then, you be given a tardy. A student being tardy three times is given a detention. A student being tardy 4 times counts as one absence.
